I am a writer, a teacher, a game designer, and a small publisher.
The true object of all human life is play. Earth is a task garden; heaven is a playground. -G.K. Chesterton

There are many people in the world smarter, with more to say, and more eloquent ways to say it than I. I've grown to understand that I may not 'make it' as a writer until I have something to say and that may not be until I'm very old. In the meantime, there is this. The work. From a 30 second introduction to a podcast, to a novel, to setting notes for an RPG, it's all the work. It's fitting words together in ways that are interesting and thoughtful and, perhaps, moving. It's sharing the things we care about in the ways we care about. It's form and content, poetry and prose.

This blog has been a receptical for drafts (mostly these) and completed works alike, a sounding board of sorts, for the things I'm interested in. I hope the quality has improved over the years. I hope it becomes a place where imagination and fantasy are encouraged, where our better selves can be pictured. I hope it becomes a place of hope. In the meantime, please enjoy and get in touch!

Fantasy remains a human right: we make in our measure and in our derivative mode, because we are made: and not only made, but made in the image and likeness of a Maker. -Tolkien
I started writing when I was a kid. I have a distinct second grade memory of buying a pre-bound, blank hardback and writing/illustrating a book about that bizarre TV show Dinosaurs. Since then I have been writing fiction of all kinds.

This naturally spilled over into roleplaying games a few years ago. Here are worlds, works of fiction, that you actually get to play in! Since then I have been hooked, striving to stretch my proverbial wings into both fields: fiction and gaming. I hope to share this journey with you through my blog!
